It is made with independent event videographers and video production organizations’ use in mind. The camera’s CMOS sensor is the Super 35mm from Canon and Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor of the C300 and records at 24Mbps using an AVCHD codec for easy integration in existing production workflows. Among it’s capabilities is the support for external recorders, HDMI output with embedded Time Code, remote operation, and complete manual control over both video and audio recording.

This camera’s sensor has phase detection autofocus (AF) technology that provides smooth, high-performance continuous focus in recordings. Thia also makes it ideal for fast and accurate autofocus, helping filmmakers to create stunning footage which maximises the creative options offered by fast lenses and shallow depth-of-field. The one-shot AF functionality enables one achieve precise focusing.

The Wide Dynamic Range Gamma feature helps to maintain and retain an image’s continuity. This means you do not necessarily need post-production processing as you can use your images/recorded data as it is. It also provides for creative color grading opportunities.

Push Auto Iris: This function provides assistance in determining the exposure. It automatically adjusts the aperture in accordance with the brightness during recording. PUSH AUTO IRIS function is activated only while the PUSH AUTO IRIS button is being pressed for manual aperture adjustment.
